This Assistant Teacher role offers the opportunity to take an active part in instruction, leading small group activities, co-teaching lessons, and providing individualized support to help students achieve their academic goals.
\n Key Responsibilities:
\n - Assisting licensed staff in the classroom
\n - Aid students in meeting their individualized education plan (IEP)
\n - Maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning
\n - Work with individuals and/or small groups when activities and assignments are presented
\n - Provide support for students in crisis
\n - Utilize a variety of learning methods to enhance the student's learning experiences and support them as needed
\n - Behavior management and de-escalation support
\n - Celebrate the students you’re working with
\n - Support students with elements of personal care (feeding, toileting, etc.)
Required Qualifications:
\n - High School Diploma or GED
\n - 1+ years experience in childcare/education
\n - Applicants must have professional proficiency in English
\n - US Work Authorization - Zen Educate cannot provide sponsorship for an employment visa or relocation assistance at this time.
Preferred Qualifications:
\n - Previous experience working in special education classroom
\n - Behavioral Technician or PCA experience
\n - Crisis prevention (CPI) training
\n - CPR certification
Salary
\n Pay: $18 per hour, paid weekly.
\n Schedule: Monday to Friday, within hours of 7:30 am - 3:00/4:30 pm (no weekend work).
